It has been a long time, but I am still alive and well

July 15th, 2009

I have not written since November and, I am honest when I say this, I feel really bad about it.  I feel so bad, that I am going to write about everything (or everything that i remember) that has happened since November.

First, Christmas was amazing!  Like every year, we thought it would be small because we were struggling with finances, but it was perfect.  I received things I love, I gave things I love and I spent time with people I love.  The most surprising thing that happened that night was opening my gift from Santa.  Santa got me, drumroll please, a Dyson Rollerball. I could not believe it!

Steven and I went to Las Vegas for New Years.  I always re-evaluate my trip after I come back and every time my perception changes.  We arrived late on New Years Day.  People were already partying in the streets, hotels, etc.  We decided that we would avoid the mass of people outside and find a place to eat in our hotel.  We stayed at Caesars Palace, which was gorgeous and had the most delicious dessert/pastry place I have been to.  Forgive me, I dont remember what it was called and since I have a lot to write, I am too lazy to look it up. :)  After dinner, we decided to join the intimidating crowd out on the strip.  What would we think of ourselves if we stayed inside on New Years Eve in Las Vegas? Well, it was nothing special so staying inside would have been just fine!!

The rest of the trip went well, except it was freezing cold and we only brought clothes for slightly chilly weather.  We did go to a show, The Blue Man Group, which was amazing! I recommend that show to everyone.  Steven got called on stage! YES, Steven got called on stage! He did a skit and it did not make any sense, but it was amazing!

When we got back from Las Vegas, we moved into an apartment in Lewisville, which is about 5 minutes from my parents house and 10-15 minutes from Laurie’s house.  It was a great apartment, but now we are ready to leave.  About a month after we moved in, we noticed a funny and stinky smell near our front door.  When we started putting the pieces together, we figured out it was the dump that is across the street from our apartment.  Guess what?  It is worse now that it is 100 degrees everyday.  We are ready to move.

In May, Steven and I birthed (not really) a baby boy (a puppy) named Pixel.  Ok, he was born on March 10th and we got him on May 8th and we love him so much.  Pixel has been through a lot.  He was born with a liver shunt and we had a very emotional month with him.  Since Pixel has his own blog, he has written about his struggles.  It has been a while since he has written because he was not feeling good and then he had surgery.

I also graduated from UNT in May.  That was great bc now I don’t have to do any homework! I love it! :)  I don’t have to say anything else about graduation.

So back to Pixel.  Our little family has had a run of bad luck.  It started with Pixel’s liver shunt.  Next, my car was totalled a week before we left for vacation.  We bought a car the day we flew out, which I am glad we did because we got a great deal and I love my car.  While we were on vacation, San Diego, I found out that I won’t have a job starting 2010.  I do have a few months, which is great, but it still sucks.

San Diego was great.  The weather was great, the people were great, the beach was great, the food was great, everything was great.  I went kayaking for the first time and I loved it.  The rest of the trip, we layed out and got really dark.

Yesterday/Today I went to watch Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.  All I am going to say about that is it was great.  I loved every moment of it.  The movie was missing some vital moments from the book, but that is expected.

Now I am done.  Sorry about the poor writing, but I was so eager to get you up to date on my life.

I will talk to you soon! I WILL!

Oh, I forgot something!! BUT, I won’t mention it because it will make me want to get back on here and write about it!
